[event] Australia-wide RAMP Meeting, March 2014 with DAAD and AvH Alumni Meeting

DEBUG: node.tpl.php

Fri, 28/03/2014 to Sun, 30/03/2014
The Sydney Boulevard Hotel, 90 William Street, Sydney, Australia

After Melbourne this year, next year's big RAMP meeting will be moving back to Sydney. This third Australia-wide RAMP meeting will include an Australian DAAD and AvH Alumni Meeting – so even if you're not currently a mentor, mentee or research ambassador, please save the date!

As we agreed at the last RAMP meeting in May, the 2014 will focus less on the RAMP initiative itself in order to leave more room for content-related programme items. We are planning a programme that combines scientific input, talks on specific aspects of mentoring, and cultural topics as well as leaving enough room for our alumni to engage and interact with each other.

At this stage, no part of the programme is set in stone and we are still discussing a variety of options. We would therefore appreciate your suggestions – be it a wish-list as to what you would like to see at the meeting or a suggestion on how you would like to contribute. From experience, it always greatly benefits these meetings if our alumni, mentors, mentees and research ambassadors actively engage in creating the programme, so please simply drop us an email with your ideas and suggestions.

The official RAMP website,, is almost ready for launch, so every attendee will have the opportunity of getting a better understanding of the RAMP initiative prior to the meeting.

We intend to start off on the Friday evening with a first informal meeting before the official start on Saturday morning. Saturday will be filled with talks, presentations and discussions during the day; in the evening, we are planning to organise an event at the University of Sydney . The meeting will conclude on Sunday with a morning working session and a social activity in the afternoon.

If our budget allows, we will be able to cover airfares and accommodation – stay tuned! We will be sending out official invitations with more information in late January or early February.
